“Prana Flow”
Saturday 2nd March 2013
Umborne Village Hall, Shute, East Devon 10am–4pm
The morning will start with a dynamic yoga session to heat and cleanse the body. The practise will include standing, lying and seated twists, linked in flowing movements with the breath.
After a short break (when a selection of herbal teas, coffee and home made flapjacks will be served), we will explore the practice of pranayama – in particular, how it allows us to quieten the mind and also keep prana (energy) within the body. Looking in more detail at breathing rhythms and traditional counting techniques, we will practise a full pranayama vinyasa which extends and lengthens the breath.
There will be a shared lunch. Please bring a small vegetarian dish to share.
After lunch we will do some short, simple chanting and sound-based pranayama, followed by restorative yoga and relaxation.

A day of yoga to open your heart and revive your spirit
with Di Magrane (BWY) and Viv Hampson (BWY)
Dalwood Village Hall 10am–4pm
The day will start with a dynamic asana practice, combining breath with movement. The focus of the asana practice will be to release tension at the neck and shoulder, allowing the body to gradually open with back-bending postures. Once the body has opened on a physical level we will work to deepen the breath with a pranayama practice incorporating mudras (hands gestures) to settle the mind. Following a delicious shared lunch we will deepen our awareness of the subtle body using chanting, visualisation and restorative yoga incorporating deep, slow relaxing stretches. The day will be completed with a Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation).
