Take the turning for "Shute" and "Shute Barton" (a brown tourist sign) opposite the large, open-air car dealership on the A35 between Axminster and Honiton. Follow this road down into Shute village. The road veers to the right opposite an Elizabethan gatehouse. A short while later, take the turning for Umborne on your right. Follow the lane, veering sharply right after about half a mile. A little later you should pass under a railway bridge. After a bridge over a stream, take the right turning, signposted Umborne. You should now see the village hall ahead. Park in the car park (the left-hand turning just before the hall).
